Meet Scott Eason

A Plus Backflow Testing is owned and operated by Scott Eason, a Florida-certified Backflow Assembly Tester (FL BAT #PR14723). Scott personally handles every test in North Port and Englewood. You do not get a different tech each year with different tools and different paperwork, and you do not get a dispatcher routing the job to a subcontractor. You get the same tester who already knows your property.

Why does that matter? Because backflow testing is a compliance service. Your water authority cares about three things: was the test done by a certified tester with a current BAT credential, was the assembly verified against the readings the Florida Administrative Code requires, and was the certified test report submitted in the format the utility accepts. Scott owns all three. The credential is current and displayed on every report. The readings come from a calibrated differential pressure gauge with annual calibration paperwork on file. The filing is registered on the North Port Utilities Cross-Connection Control portal and on the Englewood Water District approved-tester list.

What "Specialist" Means in Practice

A Plus is a backflow testing specialist. That is the only service we offer. We do not run plumbing service calls, we do not install new assemblies, and we do not perform corrective work on failed devices. That focus is intentional. A general plumber who runs backflow tests as a side service may show up with a gauge that has not been calibrated in twelve months (Florida Code requires annual calibration), may not be registered on your utility's portal, and may not know the specific filing format your utility wants. We calibrate our gauges annually, we are registered on both Charlotte County utility systems, and we file every test the same business day.

The specialist tradeoff: if your device fails the annual test, the corrective work goes to a separate licensed backflow service contractor (often a plumbing contractor with the right Florida backflow service license). What Our Customers Get on Every Visit

Every annual backflow test we perform follows the same on-site procedure. We confirm the device, the model, and the meter. We attach a calibrated differential pressure gauge to the test ports. We run the check valves and (on an RPZ) the relief valve through their cycles, recording the differential pressure readings on a certified test report. We sign the report with the date, the gauge serial number, and the BAT certification number. We email you the signed PDF the same business day and file the report with your utility the same business day. The whole on-site visit is about twenty minutes for most residential PVB and DCV testing, and thirty to forty-five minutes for commercial RPZ.
